Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock After School Programs
Since 1997, Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock has been offering innovative arts programming to
a diverse audience of children and young adults in schools and community groups throughout Northeast Los Angeles.
Programs are taught by established local artists, who share their methods and mediums of
expertise to expose children to new approaches to creative expression!
SELECT PAST PROGRAMS
"Trash Art", an environmental approach to sculpture making through
recycled materials, taught by artist Nancy Kyes.
"Creating with Music", a guitar and string instrument workshop,
introduced indigenous instruments (Jarana, Requinto) from
Veracruz, Mexico, taught by musician Quetzal Flores.
“Map Your World”, a bookmaking workshop on finding your roots, and
mapping your family history through art and imagination, taught by artist Alexandra Weisenfeld.
